Acquired: 2005 CFL Draft (4th round, 30th overall)
Mennie was the Blue Bombers top pick in the 2005 CFL College Draft. The University of Manitoba Bisons product was selected in the fourth round (30 overall).
THE COLLEGE YEARS – 2002-04
Mennie was named the Bisons’ Most Valuable Player in 2004. He finished the season tied for 8th in the Canada West Conference with 41 tackles. He also tied for 4th in the conference with 4 sacks and hauled in a pair of interceptions.
In 2003, Mennie collected 36 tackles and a pair of sacks for the Herd. He also had one interception.
That followed a rookie performance in 2002 in which he made 24 tackles for the Bisons.
THE JUNIOR YEARS – 1998-99
Mennie was a Canadian Junior Football League all-star in 1998 and ’99 for the Victoria Rebels of the BCFC. He was also the CJFL Defensive Player of the Year in ’99.
